Pet Care: What To Do If Your Dog Or Cat Eats Tainted Pet Food (Part 2)

You must always note that your dog or cat may show signs of illness before they become dangerous or a risk to their life. Be on the watch for changes in their mood, defecation, appetite, urination, overall health, drinking, or any other aspect of their day to day life.

In the case of the contaminated pet food, kidney failure is a result of the poisoning, and this can cause extreme thirst in pets, and infrequent urination. Other problems include lethargy, diarrhea, change in appetite, and more.

By noticing these changes, you may find the problem before it gets too serious.

You can stop problems by thinking preventative. Even if your pet has no visible symptoms, you may wish to have it checked out. This is especially important if they’ve eaten the recalled food brands. Of course, if you have reason to suspect any problem, or whether there are symptoms or not, it is a good idea to schedule a visit to your vet.

Although the current pet food worry is raising awareness of animal health, a pet owner will always want to be alert looking after their cat or dog, and watch out for their health – to ensure it’s always the best.
