Pet Care: Selecting Your Best Pet Friend (Part 2)

Is an affectionate pet your goal? Some dogs are naturally quite friendly, while others are more self-absorbed. Depending on your emotional needs or the time you have to spend with them, you could need a pet that is more independent, or else more loyal to you.

How free is the pet to roam and live comfortably in your home? If you have a smaller home or condo, you may need to find a small pet. As well, large breeds need more room to run and roam, which is an issue in a smaller location.

What are your local rules? In an apartment or condo there may even be standards regarding breeds or sizes you may have. This can reduce your options.

Do you want the pet to be assertive? Some dogs are naturally noisy, and some are very quiet. While barking all the time can cause problems, barking at the right time for an intruder is very welcome!

But no matter how you select your dog, you can be sure that the care and love you give them will be returned by them, and expect a long and happy relationship!
