If your dog or cat is under the weather, it’s vital to keep him or her away from little ones. Like people are upset and more prone to act up when feeling lousy, your pet needs quiet time apart from small children. Your pet needs an opportunity to heal, and placing it in the middle of a group of people won’t help it. And this applies to any situation when an cat or dog is sick.

Including little ones in the pet’s daily life, such as in feeding, cleaning, grooming, and such will help the young tykes to have a closer bond. The result is that as the small children get closer to the animal, they’re less likely to hurt the animal. However, care should be taken with very small children to assist them, so that the pet gets proper attention.

Raising a pet is a great memory for small children. With a little care, it can be a wonderful experience for your dog or cat.
