Surprises In Each Package Of Pet Food (Part 2)
|
Using byproducts provides extra protein in the product, and raises the animal content, but is considered an inferior food for dogs and cats to eat.
In the preparation of animals for our consumption, better meat pieces are removed first. What’s left is usable, but is rarely labeled as such, instead being grouped under the term ‘by-products’. This term can include unborn babies, feet, heads, fat, lungs, spleens, intestines, ligaments, blood, livers, bones, and other parts.
It is your choice to decide if such foods is important in what you give your pets, and whether you want a change. Paying careful attention to the ingredients on labels, and doing your own research on the petfood manufacturers and industry practices will help you decide if the food you give your cat or dog is something you’re happy with, or whether you want to adjust your pet’s diet.
