Flea shampoos or dips are very good at killing fleas. One of the biggest disadvantages is in actually getting the dog or cat into the bath. The dip or shampoo must be used according to instructions to work. But when used correctly, the shampoo is highly effective, and will leave little or no residual chemicals on your pet. But this benefit is also a liability because there’s no long-term protection from a bath, and you must combine it with other protection measures to totally protect your dog or cat from future flea attacks.

One easy solution to use is that of powders, spot-on treatments, sprays, or similar. The treatment requires a simple application. The length of time they work varies: powders or sprays usually last just a few days, spot on treatments can last a month, also they can vary in coverage. Sprays and powders can protect also against more than fleas, such as mites, ticks, and more.

So no matter what solution you select to rid your pet of fleas, you must pay attention to understand exactly what each solution does, how it works, and how it affects your cat or dog. Each solution works differently, and reading the products will provide you find the ideal solution to solve your flea problem, and help your dog or cat to be protected from the problem of fleas.
