Keeping Cats Or Dogs Clear Of Dangerous Plants! (Part 2)

For cats, the forbidden items include (but aren’t limited to): asparagus fern, umbrella plants, easter lily, rhododendron, chinese evegreen, oriental lily, crotons, evergreen, daffodil (bulb and plant), mistletoe, potato, poinsettia, lily of the valley, morning glory, yews (all types) peace lillies, black-eyed susan, eggplant, english ivy, java beans, apple seeds, philodendron, rubber plant, chrysanthemum, jasmine, lily spider, belladonna, holly, iris, tulip plants and bulbs, aloe vera, tobacco (such as from cigarette butts in an ashtray), rhubarb, amaryllis bulbs, tiger lily, sweet pea, marigold, mushrooms, baby’s breath, honeysuckle, poppy, onion, and eucalyptus. These would include many plants in your home and kitchen.

This list is by no means complete. If you are concerned about any plants, consult knowledgeable friends, research at your library and on the Internet, or if all else fails, just get rid of the plant.

Although you treasure a favorite plant, your cat or dog come first. If a plant is putting them at a health problem, it is a simple choice what you must do, and you can make the right decision for your pet’s safety.
