Involving little ones in the pet’s daily life, grooming, feeding, cleaning, and such will help the little ones to develop a closer relationship. The result? As the young tykes get to know the animal, they are less likely to hurt the pet. But, care should be taken with very small children to assist them, so that the pet gets proper attention.

Especially if your cat or dog is sick, it is vital to keep it away from young ones. Just as people are irritable and much more likely to react when feeling sick, your pet needs time away from little ones. Pets need peace and quiet to heal, and putting it in the center of attention won’t help. And of course this is important for any occasion when an cat or dog is sick.

Growing up and playing with a cat or dog is a wonderful memory for little children. With just a little care, it can be a wonderful time for your cat or dog, too.
