Pet Proofing Your House (Part 2)

Even day-to-day objects can be unsafe. For instance, cords from drapes are easy to tangle in, especially for cats. Plastic bags need to be put away so your cat or dog can’t play in one and get caught. Even tiny objects like curios and toys can pose a danger if the pet tries to swallow them. Parts may break off, or they might ingest something.

Pets are curious and interested about the objects they discover, much like people. But that curiosity can be quite dangerous. For example, delicate figurines and objects, items on higher shelves, a delicate object like a vase on a small table, and other items can be an accident just waiting to occur. Remember, if it’s easy to bump into it and knock it over, it’s too possible for a moving dog or jumping cat to knock it down, and the end result is a valuable broken.

While pet proofing your house is a lot of effort, watching over your family’s friend makes it time well spent. And with just a few minutes of thought, you can aid your dog or cat and avoid any unnecessary problems.
