Choosing Your Pet Friend (Part 1)

Dogs are confidantes, friends, companions, and much more. Choosing your pet for yourself or your children is not hard. But taking the effort to select properly will make it easy to pick the perfect dog for you and your children.

General rules in choosing are:

Is the pet able to roam and live comfortably in your household? If you have a smaller house or apartment, you may need to get a smaller dog. As well, large breeds require room for running, which is a problem in a tinier place.

Who will the dog be for? When selecting a dog for your family, for young people, you will have to get a dog that is good with people. Certain dogs do not play well in a family setting, while some dogs are more aggressive than a family allows.

Retrievers are very likable dogs, considered loyal, protective, and caring, important in a family pet. Because they are bigger dogs, they benefit from being outdoors, and so are good for households who are outside frequently.

Collies are great with children. They are known as intelligent dogs, patient, and longsuffering, ideal around younger children.

How loud do you want the pet to be? Some dogs are naturally loud, and some are very passive. A dog barking all the time is annoying, barking at the right time for an intruder is wonderful!
