For cats, the forbidden plants include: chinese evegreen, potato, evergreen, onion, chrysanthemum, belladonna, english ivy, amaryllis bulbs, marigold, mushrooms, mistletoe, apple seeds, lily of the valley, easter lily, java beans, honeysuckle, lily spider, poinsettia, rhododendron, philodendron, iris, aloe vera, rubber plant, holly, rhubarb, daffodil (bulb and plant), sweet pea, peace lillies, crotons, tobacco (from cigarettes), baby’s breath, oriental lily, yews asparagus fern, umbrella plants, tulip plants and bulbs, tiger lily, jasmine, eggplant, morning glory, poppy, black-eyed susan, and eucalyptus, which can include many plants in your home and panty.
Note that this list is by no means every item. If you’re concerned about a particular plant, check with knowledgeable friends, research at your library, on the Internet, or if all else fails, just get rid of the item.
Even if you may truly value a special plant, your pet come first. If a plant is creating a health problem, it’s a simple choice what to do, and make the right decision for your pet’s safety.
