Some Flea Control Solutions (Part 1)
One option to clean up your dog or cat is with a tablet. Oral forms work on the egg, and not the adult. But by preventing the eggs from hatching, the next flea generation. However, this means you will need to kill the adult fleas from your cat or dog (such as with a flea dip).
Flea dips or shampoos are effective in killing fleas. One of the biggest disadvantages is in actually getting the cat or dog into the bath (especially for cat owners)! As well, the shampoo must be used as per the instructions to do its job. But when used correctly, the dip or shampoo is effective, and leaves behind almost no residual chemicals on your dog or cat. But this benefit is also a disadvantage since there’s no long-term protection from a bath, and you’ll need to combine it with other flea protection measures to totally protect your dog or cat from future attacks.
One simple solution to apply is that of sprays, powders, spot on treatments, or similar. The treatment requires a simple application. The effectiveness can vary - powders or sprays usually last just a few days, spot on treatments can last a month, also they can vary in coverage. Powders and sprays can also protect against more than fleas, such as mites, ticks, and other insects.
