Especially with little children, picking up and playing with the cat or kitten can lead to scratches or bites. When you’re expecting visits from little tykes, you might want to separate them from each other whenever you can. And if you have yet to make a choice about a cat or dog for your home, you may need to seriously evaluate if a cat is a good choice.
If the young children are visiting, one way for both pet and children to play together well is by an outdoor activities, like taking the dog or cat for a jog or run, walking the dog when he needs to go out, catch, or others. These activities can teach young ones the responsibility of caring for a dog or cat.
Including small children in the pet’s daily life, feeding, cleaning, grooming, and likewise will help the little ones to have a closer bond. The result? As the young ones come to love the pet, they are less likely to hurt it. But, care should be taken with very small children to assist them, so that the dog or cat gets proper attention.
